I must admit that my 4 year old son learns a lot of preschool basics from this system, while playing various educational games for hours. He gets to learn as a 4 year old and I get to be a truly proud parent. I am going to purchase another (v-pocket), to keep at his grandmothers house, so that he won't have to carry it back and forth. This system is truly amazing for the both of us. Thank you so much V-smile for this educational tool.you as well should be proud developers of this helpful tool for small preschoolers. My daughter was jumping up and down over this toy. This is also a very good car ride toy. She was counting, adding, using language skills and smiling the whole time. I literally had to pry it from her hands several nights when she fell asleep playing it. Parts are easy to keep track of and give hours of quiet play. No more "Are we there yet." every 10 minutes, only every couple hours.
So disappointing. I have purchased 6 vsmile, and/or vsmile cyberpockets and all of them have stopped working shortly after purchase. I have tried using only batteries, only the 9volt plug in, and still the system shuts down, and never powers up again. I have 10 games that are useless to my kids, because the machines are junk. Don't waste your money.
kind of similar to a high graphics game played on a computer that is short on memory. It was shelved due to the bad graphics. I purchased this a while back (actually forgotten I owned it). Of course my kid enjoyed this toy, until I tried it myself - and wasted no time getting 'rid' of it. For example when playing Winnie the Pooh, you can actually see 'several' pooh's as you move him around the screen. Similarly the trees and other items in the background sort of 'multiply' as you move around. If you do not have the problem I described here on your purchase, good for you, otherwise I would not recommend purchasing this item. Screen scratches easily too -for an item that is supposed to be designed to be used 'on the move'(I do own over a dozen toys from Vtech and am very satisfied with most)
We also have a 3, 2 at the time, boy. I bought this in July of 08 and wanted to wait to write my review to make sure I left an honest one. at target. It is a tank. Don't hesitate to buy this. I got it for my daughters 4th bday because she loved her big vsmile.
We own all the games and my kids just love it. I found this on sale for [.]. It has been thrown, dropped, water poured on it and taken on at least 10 road trips. I never buy without researching, so I was heart broken when I got home and read all the bad reviews on amazon. I just knew mine was going to be riddled with defects.I'm glad to report over one year later and this thing is still going. They'd rather play it than the big one on TV.
I've decided that when this one finally does die I will purchase another one because it is priceless to me and my children.
